Valeriu Herța (b. 1960, Bardar, Moldova) is a Moldovan graphic artist, painter, illustrator, and calligrapher whose work unites painting, engraving, and the expressive art of calligraphy. A graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of Chișinău and member of the Union of Artists, he is renowned for transforming the Latin script into visual poetry and for his refined, symbolic compositions. Founder of the “Latin Lilies” calligraphy contest and a dedicated teacher at Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University, Herța bridges tradition and modernity while inspiring new generations of artists.
