Born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia—Wedad Al-Bakr is a multidisciplinary painter whose art is both vibrant and evocative. With a background in Arabic Literature and Fine Arts, she bridges storytelling with visual expression.

Her style is characterized by fluid, expressive brushwork and luminous color palettes, often merging abstraction with symbolic figuration. Through pastel and acrylic media, she creates layered, emotive compositions that reflect themes of compassion, resilience, and the inner strength of women.

A founding member of the Alittijahat Alfanniya group and the Albaylasan Art Center, as well as a member of the Bahrain Art Society, she continues to shape the Gulf’s contemporary art scene. Her participation in Women in Art for Peace exhibitions underscores her dedication to amplifying women’s voices and promoting art as a catalyst for dialogue and harmony.
