Iurie Matei (b. 1956, Druță, Moldova) is a Moldovan painter whose work bridges the lyrical traditions of national art with contemporary explorations of light, memory, and symbolism. A graduate of the “Ion Creangă” Pedagogical Institute, Matei has developed a personal style that blends expressive color harmonies with spiritual and cultural motifs, making his canvases both intimate and universal. His works have been exhibited widely across Moldova and internationally, and he is a long-standing member of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova.
